Adam Holberry

Chief Underwriting Officer
Adam is one of our co-founders. Prior to Brace, he served as the Head of Alternative Risk at Hiscox and worked at Axis Capital and Allied World Assurance Company, with a focus on Property and MGA business.

Albert Küller

Chief Financial Officer
Albert is the Chief Financial Officer at Brace Underwriting Limited. Prior to coming to Brace, Albert was responsible for insurance pricing and portfolio management, including remediation (Decile 10) at Lloyd’s. Before that, Albert held the position of Chief Economist at a large UK Consulting and Professional Services company.

Tom Sambrook

Head of Underwriting
Tom is the Head of Underwriting for Brace Underwriting Limited. Prior to joining Brace, Tom spent 10 years at Hiscox in a variety of roles spanning capital modelling, actuarial pricing with a focus on liability products, run-off management and underwriting. Since 2019 Tom held the role of senior underwriter within the Alternative Risk book at Hiscox which was a diversified portfolio of MGA partnerships writing specialty mono-line programmes or larger multi-line structures. Tom became a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 2016.

Martin McBrearty

Head of UK & Europe
Martin is the Head of UK & Europe for Brace Underwriting Limited. Before joining Brace, Martin spent 18 years at Hiscox in a variety of leadership roles and as a Partner. For the past 10 years, he served as Head of Underwriting Partnerships for UK & Europe with a focus on MGAs writing alternative classes of business.

Glenn Dorr

President & Head of Marketing, North America
Glenn joined Brace in early 2022 as Head of Distribution for North America and is based in Boston. Glenn brings more than two decades of experience to Brace and joins from Hiscox, where since 2017 he held the role of Head of Business Development and Broker Relations, North America. Prior to this Glenn held a number of senior positions including regional director of northeast USA for Lloyd’s of London and senior vice president of HCC Specialty.

Neil McMillan

Senior Underwriter
Neil McMillan joined the Brace team as Senior Underwriter and brings almost four decades of specialty London market experience. Neil was previously at Canopius where, since 2013, he held the role of North American facilities underwriter and lead underwriter in property and casualty business. Prior to this Neil has held a number of senior positions at Brit, Alea London’s North American facilities division and Zurich Specialties in London.

Sameer Bhatarah

Underwriter
Sameer began his career on the Lloyd’s of London graduate scheme which included working at Hiscox, Tokio Marine Kiln and the Corporation of Lloyd’s. Prior to Brace, Sameer worked for TigerRisk Partners (UK) as a Senior Analyst.

Guy Galloway

Head of Operations and Compliance
Guy joined as Brace’s Head of Operations and Compliance during August 2022. Prior to working at Brace, Guy was Delegated Authority Manager at Tokio Marine HCC, and previously worked for Brit and Newline in various DUA operations and compliance roles.

Jessica Needham-Bennett

Senior Operations Analyst
After graduating from the University of Manchester, Jessica started in the market at a FairFax Financial Holdings Ltd. subsidiary. Jessica originally joined Brace as Executive Assistant as well as Underwriting Assistant having previously worked for Beat Capital Partners as Executive Assistant to the Beat Syndicate 4242 CEOs. Jessica now acts as Senior Operations Analyst as the team expands.

Kashim Abdul-Ullah

Operations Technician
Kashim joined the team in March 2023 as Operations Technician. He has completed 2 years of his Biomedical Science Degree at Middlesex University. In his own words, he “always intended to work in the city, and once I had found the opportunity to kickstart my insurance career at brace, I did not hesitate to pounce.”

Peter Ambler

Wordings Consultant
Peter has worked in the London Market for over 40 years, 30 of which were spent working for a Lloyd’s broker where he was a Board Director and was responsible for Operations, Compliance, Internal Audit and Risk Management. Many years were spent dealing with Contract Wording issues, including speaking at overseas Conferences on wordings matters. He has also worked for the Corporation of Lloyd’s and most recently, Griffin Risk Managers. Peter is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Insurers and is a past Captain of Lloyd’s Football Club.

Chandni Patel

Actuarial Manager
Chandni started her career in personal lines before moving to the world of commercial insurance. Chandni began her commercial insurance career at Zurich as a pricing analyst where she also qualified as an actuary. Her role developed to manage the UK Global Corporate Motor, Liability, Property and Real Estate portfolios. Upon moving to QBE she was appointed a Global Casualty pricing manager.

Yi (Sylvia) Li

Pricing and Portfolio Management Data Analyst
After completing a PhD in Biochemical Engineering from UCL, Sylvia started as an Intern at Brace and successfully transferred to a permanent role as the Pricing and Portfolio Management Data Analyst in 2021. She gained her Bachelor and Master degrees from the University of Bath and UCL, respectively.

Anna Stylianou

Pricing and Reserving Analyst
Anna joined Brace as a Pricing and Portfolio Management intern and transferred to a permanent position as a Pricing and Reserving Analyst in 2022. She completed her graduate studies at the University of Leeds in Actuarial Mathematics and postgraduate studies at UCL in Business Analytics.

Rebecca Davies

Pricing and Capital Analyst
Rebecca joins Brace as a Pricing and Capital Analyst. Prior to Brace, she was employed at WTW as an Actuarial Analyst, working across the pricing, reserving and Solvency II teams. Rebecca graduated in 2020 from the University of Exeter with an integrated master’s degree in Mathematics. Alongside her role at Brace, Rebecca studies to become a qualified actuary with the IFoA.

Stephanie Scott

Executive Assistant/ Office Manager
Steph joined Brace as an Executive Assistant to the CEO & CFO and Office Manager. Her career in the administration sector began at the Home Office before joining Marsh & McLennan Companies which included EA roles at Mercer Marsh Benefits and the Risk Management Practice at Marsh Ltd.

Megan Scamell

Team Administrator
Megan joined Brace in February 2023 as a Team administrator. Prior to this Megan completed her graduate studies at Queen Mary, University of London and graduated with a BSc degree in Psychology.

Syndicate 4242 is managed by Asta, the leading third-party managing agent at Lloyd’s, responsible for several Lloyd’s Syndicates, Special Purpose Arrangements and several MGA clients. Therefore Brace Underwriting can leverage the wider legal and claim resources of both Asta and Syndicate 4242.
